Salt & Light is a local thrift and grocery store that helps community members gain access to food, clothing, and household goods, in spite of financial obstacles. They accept a variety of donations in any condition, putting the gently used donations on the sales floor and recycling the rest. They ship 40,000 pounds of recyclable clothing about every 10 days, and all the proceeds go back to Salt & Light to purchase items for their grocery store. They also have a unique program that allows volunteers to earn store credit for every hour worked. These credits can then be used toward any item at Salt & Light.
